Who are we
Formula Technion
Formula Technion is the formula student team of the Technion - Israel Institute of technology.
The team started at the beginning of 2012 of 20 mechanical engineering students, first competition was on the Summer of 2013.
and ever since, every year the team designed and built a Formula student race vehicle and competed with it in Formula student competitions in Europe.
From 2012 until 2020, the team built combustion engine race vehicles. and then switched to electrical combined autonomous vehicles from 2021 until now.
The team now is consisted of 70 people from different departments at the Technion, Mechanical engineering, Aeronautics engineering, Computer science, electrical engineering, Physics, architecture & material engineering.
Every year we aim to design, manufacture, and build a new race car, based on: competition regulations, Good Engineering Practices, different engineering methods, and testing to compete at the Formula Student Competitions in Europe.

Our procss - through the year
Design
Directed by team goals, we define our system level requirements. Parts and components are designed with focus on high level reliability & performance and vehicle understanding. Throughout the design process, structured design reviews offer the opportunity for input on the design from team members, team alumni and mentors. These reviews help keep the design process on track.
Manufacture
We build our car in-house from the ground up in two months. This process enables team members to experience the relationship between innovation & practicality.
Test, Refine & Train
To achieve our goal in building a reliable car with good performance abilities, we aim to spend as much time on testing as we do on design or manufacturing. Throughout the year we gain information on the vehicle to fix weak design points and refine them. This all happens in parallel to training static and dynamics events.
Compete
Every year we aim to compete with other Formula Student teams at multiple competitions around the world.
